This museum dedicated to the youth of Malaysia
is located at 430, Jalan Laksamana. The museum houses and exhibits
documents, information and paraphernalia related to local and international
activities of various Malaysian youth organizations.
Photographs of past and present youth leaders,
uniforms worn by members, awards and trophies received, and handicrafts
made by members of youth organizations and youth co-operatives are
all displayed at the museum.
Objective
- To centralize all information, documents and paraphernalia of
youth organizations and facilitate research activities.
- To store all information pertaining to youth organizations in
a systematic manner.
- To create greater public awareness of the importance of youth
organizations and their role in national development.
Notes
The Malaysia Youth Museum was officially declared
open by Y.A.B Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, the Prime Minister
of Malaysia on April 15 1992. The building was formerly part of
the Dutch Administrative Complex. Later it became the Anglo-Chinese
School.
